Comment Rules

Posting any comment on this blog will be moderated by me and I disallow spammers from trying to promote their products, affiliate or referral links. This causes a lot of trouble such as distracting the flow of the discussion. Anyway, it’s way too easy to filter out such comments so I advise any practitioner to give up and simply follow my policies.

The most important thing that you have to observe is to either contribute on the related discussions or simply ask questions relating to the topic being discussed by everybody else. I will allow posting links on your comment provided that the website being targeted is related. Intentionally embedding a text link for an unrelated comment will be moderated for deletion.

What are the possible reasons for a certain individual to commit spam?

If you are not yet aware what a spam is all about then you have to keep reading in order to know about it. This is simply an act where a certain individual tries to promote his or her product without any intention about participating on the community, discussions, chat, or other form of web interaction. They often use illegal software to help them post their promotional text with their affiliate links to various websites. Some had even claimed to have a program that can send spam to a hundred of thousand website in just a matter of minutes.

They do commit this illegal act in the hope of making money where a certain person might be accidentally interested to buy the product. It isn’t just about selling that involves spamming but the same goes to referring programs and services. There might be some other types but the once I mentioned here are the most common practice that can be observe for most websites.

Let’s try to explain the different types of a Spammer.

1. Selling for Commission

If you are familiar about the Amazon, E-Bay, Click Bank and etc… that allows you to earn money for each successful sale then they are already highly populated by them. Sometimes they even just post a link without any other words for a reason. Others do have some lengthy words but it is very much unrelated to the subject.

2. Referrer

Get paid to programs are the most common sites that pays their members to refer new users. The same tactics are being applied and their intention is also to make money.

3. Link Baiting Technique

They could contribute a very interesting response on the discussion but they provide an unrelated site. This causes the reader to direct their attention into another interest. Such kind of spam is the hardest type to be moderated.

4. Keyword for Backlink

SEO expert says that the secret to traffic lies into the backlinks. The intention of the spammer on this matter is not to gain money but to acquire page rank and top position on the search engine. There is nothing wrong about putting your related website on an anchor text as long as you have a good and related comment post.

5. Others

There are more other types of spamming that I have not discussed here since my priority is on this blog’s comment policy only.

I really do hope that you have read this post thoroughly and able to understand the do’s and don’ts.

Good luck,

Elmo
